Pre-K Post

October 29, 2018

Dear Pre-K Families,

Pumpkin Patch was wonderful! We appreciate all the help we had running the centers, cleaning up afterwards and the many donations. We could not have done it without your assistance. Don’t forget to record your volunteer hours.

We are getting ready for Thanksgiving and our annual “Native American Day Walk.” During our preparations, we take time to discuss how thankful we are for God’s gift of love, family and home. Additionally, we help the children remember how important it is to share with those who may not be as fortunate. To support this cause the school is collecting for families in need. Pre-K’s contribution to the food drive is dry breakfast items – cereals, breakfast bars, oatmeal, grits etc.. We are hoping every family will be able to make a contribution to this important cause.

The children will also be learning about the history of Thanksgiving through stories and songs. We will being singing these songs as we walk through the school on our “Native American Walk.” Each child will decorate a shirt and headband to wear on this special day. We are asking for a donation of $1.00 to help cover the cost of shirts and fabric paint. Thank you to those parents who have already sent in a donation.

Reminder – Please remember to send in your decorated “turkey feather” as soon as possible.

Looking Ahead

  • Thursday, November 1st – Letter “K” Parade – remember to bring in something to share
  • Friday, November 2nd – NO SCHOOL –  Diocesan Professional Day
  • Thursday, November 15th – “Native American Walk”
  • Monday, November 19th thru Friday, November 23rd – Thanksgiving Holiday

As always, thank you for your continued support,

Dear Parents,

It’s going to be an absolutely wonderful week as we meet “Ms. A.” She helps us remember to cover our sneeze as we say A-choo. We’re also learning all about alligators, apples and acorns.

A special study of Saint Francis of Assisi will also take place this week. The children will learn about his life, love of nature and commitment to the Lord. Our closing activity will be a “Pet/Animal Blessing” on Friday by Mrs. Schildwachter. We would like each child to bring in a stuffed animal to blessed by Thursday, October 18th. To symbolize Saint Francis’ devotion to others we would also like each family to send in a small donation of dog food or bones to share with animals in need.

Thank you to all those parents who have already volunteered to assist or send in supplies for “Pumpkin Patch” on Friday, October 26th. We are busy making preparations and are looking forward to a fun morning.

October 11, 2018 – Upcoming Events

Dear Parents and Families,

These are the highlights of two special events during the month of October. We are looking forward to lots of learning and fun!

Pre-K Pumpkin Patch

Pre-K will celebrate the arrival of Fall with a “Pumpkin Patch Festival” on Friday, October 26th. This event is similar to “Safari Day” but with a fall theme. If you would like to assist in any way, please complete and return the attached form. Those parents who actively supervise activities and/or send in supplies will be able to earn volunteer hours. Please remember, if you are unable to assist you are still invited to attend!

The children may wear festive Halloween clothing and accessories along with closed toed shoes to school for this special day. Although costumes look wonderful, we ask the children DO NOT wear them for “Pumpkin Patch.” Many of our little guys become uncomfortable in costumes and have difficulty using the restroom.

Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Flynn 9:00 – 10:00

Mrs. Brennan & Mrs. Forget  10:15 – 11:15

Clean-up    11:15 – 11:30

Thank you for your continued support!

This week we will learn all about Mr. M and his Munchie Mouth.  We are also busy learning many new Halloween songs, dances and finger plays. Ask them to show you a few!

What fun we had last week! The Healing Hoofs Therapy Horses came for a visit on Friday morning and the children thoroughly enjoyed their “healing graces”. A big Thank You to the Haisley Family.
