Learning from the elements

Dear PreK Families,

“Pre-K Water Day” plans are in the works!  This is always a wonderful event and will take place on Friday, May 14th. This year we will have a variety of water play stations and interactive activities set up on the PreK playground for the children to enjoy. Due to the inability to have visitors on campus, we will NOT be having small wading pools for the children to splash in this year. Thank you to all those families that volunteered to send in supplies for this special morning! We will send out information regarding bathing suits, towels, etc. as the date get a little closer.

As the school year is coming to a close we begin cleaning and sanitizing our manipulative  puzzles, center items, etc… before we pack them away for summer. Therefore, we are looking for donations of old towels to use for drying items.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Show and Tell — Friday, April 30th
  • Pre-K Waterday — Friday, May 14th
  • Memorial Day — No School — Monday, May 31st
  • Thursday, June 3rd — FULL DAY
  • Last Day — Friday, June 4th — FULL DAY

As always, thank you for your support!

Free Kids' Activities in Brisbane at the Kids Collective | Brisbane Kids

Dear PreK Families,

We have exciting news! The children met the final Letter Friend today — Mr. X. He helps us remember that although we are all different we are X-tra special. The children will also be learning about Earth Day this week. We have planned a trip to our school green house to plant seeds in celebration of this important day. Later this week the students will also visit the church for a tour as we study about Mary. She is extra special indeed! And finally, Mr Gabin, the school’s band director, will teaching the children about xylophones and treating us to a little performance. What a busy week filled with fun and learning.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Letter “X” Alphabet Parade — Friday, April 23rd
  • Memorial Day — No School — Monday, May 31st
  • Last Day — Friday, June 4th

Many thanks,

The Preschool Teachers

11 Ways to Keep Your Kids Learning Through the Summer | Thomas Armstrong, Ph.D.

Dear PreK Families,

The children are very excited! We are meeting the last two Letter Friends this month. We will meet Ms. J with her jingly bells this week and we will meet the extra special Mr. X next week. Of course, learning is not going to stop! For the last few weeks of school we will continue to review and reinforce skills and concepts which were presented during the year. The children will take a “Splash into Summer” in May as we study ocean animals and their habitats. This unit is always a favorite for all!

Thank you to all those families that signed up for a conference or visit. We have enjoyed meeting with many families already and look forward to conferencing with the remaining families over the next few days. If you have any other questions or concerns please let us know.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Class Picture Day — Friday, April 16th
  • Letter “J” Alphabet Parade — Friday, April 16th
  • Memorial Day — No School — Monday, May 31st

Dear PreK Families,

During the month of April the PreK children have a Portfolio Night to “show off” their progress from the school year. Unfortunately, we will be unable to have this group event because of the safety measures that are in place on the school campus. Instead, we would like to invite you back to the classroom for another individual visit/conference. Your child’s teacher has already sent, or will soon be sending out, an email link to a Sign Up Genius site. We look forward to visiting with you soon.

Thank you again for your support during the school wide Fun Run. It was a huge success. Some of the prizes are still on their way from the Boosterthon company. We will send them home as they arrive at school. We also have a few more class incentives coming up in the individual classrooms. Your classroom teacher will keep you posted with the details.

IMPORTANT DATE

  • Friday, April 9th — Letter “Q” Show & Tell

Thank you for your continued support!
